Redy speaks MCP, so assistants like Claude and ChatGPT can work with your Digital Product Passports directly. Ask questions in plain language, review supplier evidence, and draft passports — without leaving the conversation.

Before you connect
You need a Redy account
If you do not have one, the assistant can start you off: ask it to set up a Redy workspace and it will hand you a link to finish in the portal. Nothing is created until you confirm it there.
TEST and LIVE data
A new session answers in LIVE mode. Most organizations do their early work in TEST, so if the assistant reports an empty account, ask it to switch to TEST mode — it has a tool for exactly that. This is the single most common surprise on day one.

- Open Settings → Connectors in Claude.
- Choose Add custom connector and paste the Redy server URL.
- Sign in with your Redy account and review what you are granting.
- Start a new conversation and ask Redy something.
ChatGPT
- ChatGPT's full MCP connectors are behind developer mode, and adding one may be restricted by your workspace. Enable it first — see OpenAI's guide linked below.
- In Settings → Connectors, create a custom connector and paste the Redy server URL.
- Sign in with your Redy account and review the permissions.
- Start a new chat and ask Redy something.
If there is no option to create a connector, developer mode is off or your workspace does not permit it.

Add Redy as a remote MCP server, then authenticate. No repository access is needed.
- Register the server:
claude mcp add --transport http redy https://api.redy.co/api/v1/mcp - Run /mcp in Claude Code, select redy, and complete the sign-in it opens.
- Its tools become available once that sign-in finishes — not when the server is added.
Adding the server does not sign you in. Until you authenticate through /mcp, Redy's tools will not appear.

Approving write access
Connecting an assistant gives it read access only. That is deliberate: an assistant cannot change your passports, your evidence or your billing just because it is connected.
When you ask for something that writes, the assistant requests permission for that specific capability. You approve it in Redy, signed in as yourself, with multi-factor authentication. The grant is scope-limited and expires.
Publishing is always a separate, deliberate step. A passport is a declaration to the market, so the assistant can prepare one and hand you a link — but only you can publish it.
What the assistant cannot do
Upload certificate files
A hosted assistant has no filesystem, so it cannot transfer a PDF. It can create the certification record and tell you exactly what is missing; you attach the document in the Redy portal. If an assistant ever claims it uploaded a file, that is wrong — check the portal.
Publish on your behalf
It can prepare a publication and give you a link. You confirm it in Redy.
Change billing or delete an organization
Account-level actions stay in the portal.
Privacy and data
The assistant sees only what your Redy account can see, in the organization you select, and only the parts covered by the permissions you granted. Every call is recorded in Redy's audit log against your account.
Certificate documents never pass through the assistant. Revoking the connection in Redy stops its access immediately.
Managing and revoking access
Connected assistants appear in Redy under your account's connected apps. Revoke any of them there and its access ends at once, including any write permission you approved. Revoking in Redy is the authoritative action — removing the connector in the assistant alone does not release the grant.
